Longtime telephone lobbyist Rick Yocum has died
With heavy hearts we share the news that longtime telephone lobbyist Eric "Rick" Yocum has died at 77.
Fondly remembered by many OLA members as a funny, kind, and welcoming guy, Rick spent most of his career at United Telephone Company of Ohio. He was with the company for more than 30 years, retiring in 2005 as the general manager of government relations. Following his time with the phone company, he established his own lobbying business for the telecommunications industry. He also represented Lake Erie shoreline landowners in a battle with the State of Ohio over property boundaries.
A celebration of life is scheduled for September 9, 2023 at The Wishmaker House, 116 Main St. Bellville, Ohio from 4-6 PM.
We extend our deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved Rick.
