Government Relations Services

Clean Fuels Ohio

Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) is requesting proposals from firms to provide professional services for state government relations.

Clean Fuels Ohio is a statewide, mission-driven nonprofit organization based in Columbus, Ohio. As Ohio’s clean transportation leader, we advance cleaner and sustainable transportation fuels and vehicle technologies that improve air quality and health, reduce pollution and strengthen Ohio's economy. We educate consumers, governments and businesses of all types and sizes, and provide direct analysis, technical, and project management support. We also advocate policy solutions that overcome market barriers to advanced and cleaner fuels and vehicle technologies. CFO is the largest among a network of 80 Clean Cities coalitions designated by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Services

Provide initial and ongoing strategic advice to CFO regarding state policy advocacy campaigns. In coordination with CFO staff, meet with leaders and members of the Ohio General Assembly (OGA) and the DeWine Administration to advance policy goals. The primary area of focus will be specific legislation to overcome market barriers to clean and advanced transportation technologies, position Ohio’s vehicle manufacturing and supply chain industry for long-term success, and create/preserve good-paying jobs in the sector. Also, the selected firm will advise CFO staff on broader policy and legislative strategy.

Proposal Contents and Time Frame

Responses should speak to experience and qualifications of the firm and individuals, strategic approach, cost, and any other information that the bidder considers helpful for evaluation.

Proposal Submission and Questions

Any questions and proposals for consideration should be sent to Megan Stein, Chief Operating Officer (Megan@CleanFuelsOhio.org). Answers to all questions will be posted twice per week on CFO’s website. As part of the process, CFO may conduct in-person and/or virtual interviews with firms.

Equal Opportunity Employer: At Clean Fuels Ohio we believe that to truly succeed in our mission members of underrepresented groups, and communities disproportionately affected by environmental pollution, must share an equitable position in the industry. We strongly believe that environmental justice is one of the key cornerstones of our work. Therefore, we actively encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups and prioritize bringing more diverse and inclusive voices to the table.
