Mike Carroll Joins Buckeye Health Plan

Columbus, OH (March 28, 2019) – Buckeye Health Plan (Buckeye) announced today that D. Michael Carroll has joined its team as Lead External Relations Specialist. Carroll’s responsibilities include working with state legislators and policy makers and developing and implementing strategies to communicate with plan members and other internal and external stakeholders. Buckeye, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, is a leading multi-line health plan offering Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange and specialty services in Ohio.

“Mike is well known and respected on Capitol Square, and we are very excited that he has joined the Buckeye team,” said Eric Poklar, Buckeye’s senior vice president of government affairs. “His experience will enhance our ability to meet the state’s needs and improve the health of our community, one person at a time.”

A 20-year Statehouse veteran, Carroll, a Past President of the Ohio Lobbying Association, previously served as Assistant Vice President for Government Relations at the University of Cincinnati.
