2012 Committees

Membership Committee
Co-Chairs:  Mike Morrison, Jeff DeLeone
Coordinates formal member events, such as the Annual Meeting/Legislative Reception, staff reception, welcome reception for new members, and other activities to promote relationship-building opportunities.

Networking Committee
Chair:  Lora Miller
Coordinates Signature Series luncheons, new members’ welcome, and mentor/mentee program.  In addition, will produce a white paper highlighting where OLA members can network with colleges and universities to provide internship opportunities.

Ethics & Professionalism Committee
Chair:  Rob Eshenbaugh
Leads Association on any ethics/lobbying legislation, including creating policy position.  Oversees the Certification Program.  Strategizes ways to insure the ethical standards and public service aspects of the profession are accurately communicated; this includes meeting with the media prior to the fall’s election season.  This committee largely is a combination of the prior Promoting the Profession Committee and the Ethics & Professionalism Committee.

Education & Outreach Committee
Chair:  Mike Carroll
Oversees the Association’s scholarship program.  Responds to requests from schools and other entities that wish to engage a speaker on the lobbying profession and/or lobbying issues.  This committee is a combination of the prior Speakers’ Bureau Committee and Education/Outreach Committee.

E-Communications Committee
Chair:  TBD
Oversees the Association’s web site in coordination with Association staff.  Develop recommendations and implement OLA’s social media efforts (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, app’s, etc.)

Nominating Committee
Chair:  Kelly McGivern
Submits a slate of board candidates.

A call for other committees and/or task forces will be placed as needed throughout the year.
