Contract Lobbyist sought

International Partnership of Education Research and Communication

IPERC, the International Partnership of Education Research and Communication,  is searching for assistance with drafting an amendment and securing its passage into law during the 2018 lame duck session of the Ohio legislature. The amendment would grant an exemption for our organization, allowing IPERC’s international students on an F-1 visa to participate in OHSAA sporting activities.

There is currently a law barring international students on an F-1 visa from participating in competitive sports in the state of Ohio (although, there was an amendment passed in 2017 which now allows F-1 students in boarding schools to participate).

IPERC is a non-profit educational exchange organization based in Columbus, OH; we place international students in K-12 schools across the country, but mainly in Ohio. We are looking for passage of this amendment by the end of 2018.

To respond to this request for lobbying assistance, please contact Michael Stomps, IPERC Program Director, at 614-553-8513 or iperc.michael@gmail.com.
